Who is The Realist Me?

The Realist Me is me, Louise Whewell.  I am passionate about helping you on your personal journey to better health. I have been on a path of discovery and change myself and that is why I want to work with you - because I know if I can do it, anyone can.

I used to work in the corporate world and one day I got called into my boss’s office. I was late to work…..again. I didn’t have to be at work until 10 am and the office was a 10-minute walk from home yet I was constantly late. I was in my early 30s and genuinely thought that feeling tired, run down, lethargic, stressed, bloated, constipated with no excitement, motivation or drive and terrible skin, nails and hair was normal. This was the wake-up call I needed.

It was a Friday and I stopped off at the library (my happy place!) on my way home from the shameful day at work. The first book I saw was Jason Vales’ 7lb in 7 days on the ‘new in’ stand. I thought nothing of it but picked it up and checked it out knowing nothing about it. I devoured that book and everything on his website and by the end of the weekend, my first juicer was on order. Waiting for that delivery was the longest ever – I couldn’t wait to get started.  The plan is 5 juices a day, every day for 7 days. I am not going to lie – those first couple of days were rough, but WOW, what a difference a week can make. I felt incredible by day 5. I was up early, running about the house getting chores done BEFORE work, and for the first time in a very long time, I felt alive, awake and well. There was and still is, no formal diagnosis for how I felt before the week of juice. I just felt rubbish and knew I couldn’t go on.

This was all over 5 years ago and I have come on a long way since then, learning a lot about myself and helping my family and friends along the way. My husband James has been suffering from psoriatic rheumatoid arthritis for over 25 years and we have made huge diet and lifestyle changes to help manage and reduce his symptoms – some more successful than others! This, as well as my own personal journey, is what led me to the Juice Academy to qualify as a Juice Therapist and from there on to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to study as a Health Coach.

The most exciting bit of my journey is happening right now - helping you reach your goals and raising the bar on your ‘normal’.
